YES....This is much more prevalent than people are aware of. Our son was a victim of "Teacher Bullying" in a Private High School. Since that time we have learned alot of information on it. We have transformed a division of our Private Investigation & Security Consulting Firm to deal directly with Teacher Bullying. You are not alone.....if you have any questions, fell free to contact us.....

Thanks for the info. I've pretty much gone along a lot of those guidelines. I do know that I'm not the only parent having the same experience with this particular teacher. My son is in 6th grade. This particular situation seems to be happening to a lot of the boys in his class. At this point, I'm just letting the appropriate people and staff know about my experiences. This way if it keeps coming up with other parents there is an established record of the previous situations.

Yes, sadly, we've had that problem. A 5th grade teacher would ridicule my son's handwriting as she handed papers back and a high school teacher was merciless in his sarcastic ridicule of most of his students. And one emotionally disturbed teacher terrified all her students with bizarre bullying behavior.
Fortunately they were in the minority and the majority of teachers that my sons had were not bullies.

How old is the student, and what happened? Do you have a copy of the parent handbook, that outlines what behavioral expectations are? (I realize it's probably written from the standpoint of how students are required to behave, as far as namecalling, threats, physical contact, etc. but there shouldn't be a double-standard.)
If you feel your child is being bullied by anyone, It's important to have a "paper trail" (written record) of whatever has occurred. I would encourage you to document the situation in a letter to the principal, and try to be as factual as possible. On (date) in (whatever location) my child (name) was approached by (teacher's name) and (the following took place.) If other people witnessed it, it would be helpful to note that. It's rather late in the school year to ask for a transfer to another teacher's class, but if that's what you want, or if you feel a meeting with the yourself and the teacher and principal would be better, request it.
