I was able to talk to the principal from UP Primary this morning and she told me that the sign is still safe and in storage right now. As soon as the play field is finished on the location of the old school, they are going to reinstall the sign on the corner location of the play field. They still love the sign and want it back on the general area in remembrance of the old school that occupied that spot for many years. Thanks for the response.
Oh I did not realize it was a national sight. We had a new school built last year and I thought they were going to use the sign at the new school. I know it wasn't stolen because it was taken down durning the tearing down of the old school and put in storage. I was told they were going to use it at the new school. I will check with the school. Thank you, and I am sorry your sign was stolen., My husband made the sign and donated it many years ago when my 32 year old son was in 4th grade. My husband would sneak down there every summer and freshen up the paint and since there is alll new staff since my son went to that school, no one knew who was keeping up the sign. It was our little secret and the school was always proud of the sign. We miss seeing it there. Thanks.
Hi. Unfortunately, you've posted on a nationwide forum, not on an individual school's website. I'd recommend that you try to directly phone the school in the morning, and hopefully they can help.
(In my area, we lost a really nice wooden sign to some "pranksters" who removed it, and police found it weeks later, damaged. With budgets being tight, we weren't able to replace it....I hope the same fate hasn't happened to your sign.)
