Can you be more specific? We can see you're in NewJersey, and cost of living does vary across the U.S., but are you talking about teaching at the preschool, elementary, secondary, or post-secondary level? Public or private schools? With or without a Master's degree?

It varies all across the country - and of course, highest level of education and certification, and experience can be a determining factor. If you go on-line to the school district in question, they will be able to provide specific information to you.
