We found it - Jenkins Middle School is GREAT. The principal is very friendly and on preview day just for new kids went up to every kid and talked to them personally and asked where they came from, were they nervous, what they liked to do etc. He was great. Then the first day they had music playing as the students arrived - all the staff was out to greet them they have been very sweet at working out schedules! Katie is enjoying it so far. . .
Great would depend on what your kids need in a high school or middle school. There are alot of schools here and they offer many different types of programs. What are your kids interested in? How good of a student are they? Are they into the arts, math & science? Do they have special needs? Those would be the questions you need to answer first and then start looking for a school that has the type of program that would suit your child. Some of the charter schools are great for a child who needs alot of structure. Some children need a school thats more relaxed and not rigid. Look at your children and what their interests and needs are and go from there. Great Schools is a good place to start. I have been looking at every high school in the city trying to find one that my son would fit into. Read the reviews of the schools, they give you an insight into the school much more than test results.
Hi. I'm not from CO, but have you tried using the "Find a School" feature on the green menu bar near the top of this page? You can enter your location and grade level and see what schools are in the area. Public schools are rated based on how the students perform on statewide testing (1 is low, 10 is highest.)
