Has anyone ever heard of a school not having a principal to run it?

MsJaffo
Florida has cut its education budget and is leaving some schools without principals.

We are going to Tuesday nights school board meeting with the Dr. Suess theme...Are you my principal? Hopefully this will make a statement and let the School Board know this is not acceptable in Florida and parents will not tolerate it!

I work in the sf bay area in California. Not sure what the laws say. We have a shared superintendant w/ another school district. We have principals who are part of their time in the classroom. I haven't seen a school without a principal. You may have teachers w/ administrative degrees on staff who fulfill certain obligations. Good luck to you.

I will do that but, I wanted to know if there was anyone out there that did not have a principal at the schools their children attended? Or if anyone knew about a state law that said it was ok. I know where I stand on the issue. I was trying it see if anyone knew anything about any laws, however I will do what you ask and research for myself. Thank you.

It doesn't sound like you're really asking a question, but trying to rally support...I think you'd be better off starting a separate group for Florida parents (much like there are already separate groups for LAUSD in Los Angeles, etc.) and posting your concerns there...(I haven't checked, but maybe there already is a group for FL parents...you could go to the "Groups" menu on the left side of this page, under "Member Groups" and see.)
