High Schools and Middle Schools in Broward Co

pattyannval
We are moving to the Broward Co area and are looking for a home. We have 2 daughters, one will start 7th and the other 9th. What are the best, safest, HS and MS in Broward Co. Also...what are Charter schools? We don't have them in AL.

We have lived in Broward county for 10 years. We live in Coconut Creek - has 4 elementary schools, 1 middle school and two high schools. The best area in Coconut Creek (if you want a family oriented city in a town like setting) is the zip code 33073 - has Winston Park elementary, Lyons Creek Middle (people are climbing over each other to get into this school), and Monarch High school. We also have North Broward Prep Schools (same zip code) and if you are interested in a Charter School - Coral Springs Charter is an "A" school and rated 9/10 - it has middle and high school grades so you dont have to worry about looking for two schools.
Hope this helps!

If you have a choice where to live, choose the school first, then the home. Best choice in Broward is private. I have heard Floranada is a good school as is the Coconut Creek school district. You cannot "bus in" to a public school out of your area,so choose your home location well.
