I am a kindgergarten teacher. We have had full day for 14 years in a public school. Many of the schools have gone to full day. My student attend just over 7 hours. You have to go to the schools and see how they have their schedule. At my school, we have rest for about an hour the first half of the year. Full time allows more play and social time. Many teacher feel they are stressing children in the half day. Some student still have the option of going half day if it is too long of a day for them. Usually not the case considering many have attended preschool or childcare.
The number of hours kids usually attend Kindergarten during the day depends. Most public schools offer either a morning session or an afternoon Kindergarten class. Either class can be four to four and one-half hours every day. However, many private schools offer full-day Kindergarten.
Hope this helps.
