Part-time Preschools

lorichkin
I'm looking for a pre-school that is 2-3 hours a day for maybe 2-3 days a week. This is for my 3 year old son. I have found many part-time programs that are 5 days a week but none that are for less. Please help!!

Tiny Learners preschool is very flexible. I started my 3yo at 3 hrs a day, 3x a week. The school is fantastic..I don't know where you're located but it's right off the dolphin expressway near the airport. I drove from sobe every day just so he could have a part time preschool! only took about 10-15 min. You can see my review of the school on this site also. GL!

I think finding a good part-time (less than 5 day) program for a 3 yr. old is going to be very difficult if not impossible here. Our preschool (KUM in Pinecrest) offers a three hour/day for 5 days and that is the least I could find. However, it is pretty affordable compared to some schools, so I didn't feel bad if he missed a day a week or a couple days here and there. If we had family in town for example he maybe missed a whole week.
I just made sure to know the schedule for special events, parties or enrichments (like music or chapel) to ensure that he was there to get the most out of the program on those days.
Good luck!!

Hi there
I am looking for the same kind of program. Did you find any schools that you liked? I'm also interested in starting a play group in our neighborhood. Is that something you would be interested in?

I am glad that you are looking for a "part time" placement for your child! I was thinking you might contact your local "Y" as well. If you your State Board of Education - Early Childhood Services, they can probably give you some referrals and ratings as well. Since the State, has to oversee and certify these pre-school programs, they might be a good resource.
Good luck!

Hi lorichkin,

Have you tried your park and rec program or perhaps a co-op? I know in my area of Southern California, the park and recreation departments have a variety of programs based on the needs of the community.

In the meantime, here's the GreatSchools preschool list for your area: www.greatschools.net/search/search.page?q=Miami&c=school&lc=p&state=FL&x=17&y=6
