Public High school

xjerseymom
My son attends a private middle school in Hollywood, FL. He will be going to a public high school in his hometown (NMB), unfortunately its not rated the best and the one that is, is not in his district. What can I do to have him attend the one that is good without putting a false address?

The school probably sent you a flyer of the intra-district information, because my child school did. I think the date to apply is over, but you can still ask the school your childs goes too, for information regarding this form, you can also go to the district office in which the school belongs too. You can still apply for the following year. Other thing might be that if your place of work is near the school you want your child to go too, is nearby and you can ask for a work permit, sometimes, you can also try to transfer you child depending if your child goes to a daycare center near the school you want, but it may be approved or denied, but you can take your chances.

thank you for your feedback. I will check on the intra district transfer that you mentioned.

It will be tuff for your kid especially if he is in a good private school and the school which he needs to attend is not rated one of the best ones. Unfortunately, is not much to do, unless your son is accepted via intradistrict transfer but it is not easy to be accepted because of several reasons, it depends on the school budget, space for an opening, etc.
