Where can I find an interpretation of how my kids ITBS score would match up to ISAT?

bellegogo
My children attend a private school that takes the Iowa test. All the public schools that I am considering are tested in ISAT. I am attempting to make an intelligent decision regarding a relocation. Where can I find information about how the scores compare?

HI. Unfortunately, Greatschools is a nationwide forum. I happen to live in IL, so I recognized your acronym of ISAT, and I know ITBS = Iowa Test of Basic Skills. What you need to realize is that ITBS is a nationally normed instrument, and ISAT is just a statewide test given to fulfill NCLB requirements. Ironically, there is not even a standard across the U.S. for NCLB testing...(see community.greatschools.net/advice/184/Helpful-websites-when-seeking-info-about-HOW-SCHOOLS-COMPARE-STATE-TO-STATE-)
Having said that, if you do a "google search" using the terms "ISAT ITBS" you'll find several articles/.pdf files that talk in general terms about how kids compare.
If you want to know how individual IL schools compare on ISAT testing, you can either go to the IL Board of Education website, or for a general idea use the "Research and Compare" feature on the green menu bar near the top of this page. There you can see, on a scale of 1-10, how schools in a particular city rate, based on their overall statewide test performance.
