According to my knowledge, if your child completes 2 years in private school then he/she will be taken in the next grade in public school..... but if you just send your kid to private school for 1-year, then either he/she will be assessed and promoted to next year, or they can just ask him/her to repeat that academic year. So, if you are sure that you will send your kid to PRIVATE school for 2 consecutive years, i.e in KG and then in Grade 1, then he/she will be eligible to goto Grade 2 in public school the next year. Please do verify this from the Private School administration also.

Hi rakesh,Even we are in edison township, i enquired in enrollment center of public schools, they told me to take in 2nd grade(regular batch), if my son will do k-1 and 1st grade in private school. you can double check with them.

Thanks Samish, I visited them just now..but they have till Grade 1 and I live in edison township. According to rules, when my child is going in grade 2 (Public school) won't allow as they have cut off till Oct 1.

There is this school "Little Flower Montessorri School" on Kilmer Road, Edison; which is from Pre-K to Grade 1. The cut-off in this school is Nov 30th. This might help you both.
