What elem. schools offer accelerated learning programs for gifted students? My son will be going into 1st gr.

My 5 y/o is currently doing 2nd grade math and reading so we are looking into a school that might offer the option of being in a 1st grade class but say doing math with a 2nd grade class. Or something similar.

Colorado Virtual Academy and Connections Academy are two virtual public school that allow students to take whichever grade levels of reading/math are appropriate to the child's skills while taking the rest of the subjects (science, art, history, etc) at another base level. check the links below if you have an adult available to be the child's learning coach at home.

Gifted programs in Colorado Springs are hit and miss, more miss in my opinion. I believe most schools won't even test until 3rd grade. That's how it was at my son's school. The best way is to contact individual schools you are looking at attending and talking to them directly. There is a charter school in the works the link is below.
