My son will enter middle school in the fall and I am overwhelmed over which school to send him to.

Hello. Greatschools is a nationwide forum, not affiliated with any specific school district, and the chance of finding another family from the same city with a child of similar age, attending a particular school, is slim.
As sbozarth said, if you go to the "Research and Compare" feature on the green menu bar near the top of this page, you can enter your city and grade level, and get a list of schools in your area, and see how they rate on statewide testing. If you click on an individual school name in blue, you can find out more details about the school, and read any past parent's comments, etc.

These are great groups for parents with children your age, and for new members to get to know other people in the GreatSchools community.

As for your question, there are going to be good/bad things about every school. Sadly, no school is perfect but what may help you decide is narrowing down the traits your looking for in your son's next school. For instance, are you looking for a good sports program? Also, somethings in schools can be changed or adjusted by an active parent, such as yourself.

GreatSchools also has a Research & Compare option in the green bar at the top of the screen. Research & Compare will provide great information on local schools and may provide you with more parental feedback. Check it out!
