If the child is K-6 your only option is Hickory El. If the child is middle through HS your choices are very poor. Torrance High is the worst of the bunch. If your looking, keep looking...Especially if the child is attending Middle through HS. Good Luck you'll need it!

By the way, we have lots of families living in Lawndale, Hawthorne, Del Aire and Torrance who drive great distance to send their kids to our school - St. Anthony School in El Segundo. They do the sacrifice because they believe in the integrity and greatness of St. Anthony School. Our school is the closest Catholic School to you if you will be living in the Lawndale/ Hawthorne area. There is St. Joseph's too and St. Catherine's in Torrance. But usually their class sizes are usually very big. You won't regret sending your kids to St. Anthony School in El Segundo.

I welcome you to St. Anthony Catholic School, which is located at 233 Lomita Avenue, in the beautiful city of El Segundo. Our school prides itself as a very good Catholic School and as a very safe place of learning. We have very good academic standards. In fact, WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges), an accrediting commision for schools gave St. Anthony School a very favorable review and a maximum accreditation grade valid until 2014. Here in St. Anthony we take the growth of the whole person seriously, not just the child's intellectual development but also the child's physical, psychological, and spiritual development. The familial spirit and average size of each class makes learning a very good experience for all children of our school. Come and see for yourself the truth of all that I say about this wonderful school - St. Anthony School. We also have a pre-school next door and the preschool and St. Anthony School have prepared for you and your children a great summer program. So, don't waste anytime, visit St. Anthony School as soon as you can. Thank you for your attention.

I would look in torrance. I think their school system may be better than Lawndale or hawthorne.
Are you going to rent? You may want to try Hermosa Beach for a better shool system.

Hi villenasalazar, and welcome to GreatSchools.

Your best bet would be to utilize the GreatSchools Research and Compare feature? I'm not sure what grades you're looking for, but here's the Lawndale page, and you can broaden your circle from there. The link is here: www.greatschools.net/search/search.page?state=CA&q=Lawndale&type=school

You'll be able to compare different schools and then narrow down your home buying search. Also, talk to a realtor. They're a wealth of knowledge when it comes to finding neighborhoods with phenomenal schools.
