I'm not from Albuquerque, but have you tried using the "Research and Compare" feature on the green menu bar near the top of this page? That's a good place to start.

We moved from the Chicago area ourselves, and our kids have gone through the Albuquerque school system. I can HIGHLY recommend the newest high school here, which my daughter attends. It's called Volcano Vista High School and it's in the far northwest area in the lovely Ventana Ranch neighborhood. The principal is fantastic, and I feel it's on the same educational level as my high school, Hinsdale Central in Illinois. The other good high schools are in the Northeast Heights area: LaCueva and El Dorado high schools. If you want to know any to really avoid, just ask!
