How are Savannah schools equipped to handle children with autism?

NYCmom123
We may be moving to Savannah from the NYC area, but are worried that our son who is on the autistic spectrum won't get the quality of education that he gets up here. Does anyone have information about the public schools in Savannah? Are there any inclusion classes or inclusion schools?

I'm not sure if you sought help somewhere else or already made up your mind about moving to Savannah, but please reconsider and stay in NY. The services are far superior to anything you would receive here in Savannah and better than even the private services you could pay for due to lack of resources in the area for ASD. NYC has some of the best services in the entire country and almost anywhere you would move to would not give you the same quality you are receiving apart from a few exceptions.

Unfortunately, Greatschools is a nationwide forum, and the chance of finding another person from the same town, with children of similar age and with similar diagnoses, is slim.
My suggestion is to try and network through a parent support group for autism in the state where you are thinking of moving to. In my location, www.thearc.org helps families with autism, and perhaps they can give you lists of resources in your area. Greatschools also has a group for Asperger's and Autism Parents, at community.greatschools.net/groups/18940
