From the people I talk to, Aspies have a really hard time getting any services from SFUSD. Unfortunately, some district admin take the position that because the academics are not low, the kids don't need any support. There is a support group for Aspie parents at Open gate/support for families of children w/disabilities. They meet the 3rd thursday on the month at night. Call 415 920-5040 for more info.
Some parents have been able to to litigate and get placement from various disticts into non-public schools designed for aspies like Arbor bay, Springstone and Orion Academy.

Hi and welcome to GreatSchools! We're located in San Francisco too. While I don't have any personal experience, I do have a couple links that may be helpful to you.

First, have you tried contacting SFUSD?
If not here's the link to their website: portal.sfusd.edu/template/default.cfm?page=chief_academic.special_ed

Also a couple local resources that could be helpful:
Parents for Public Schools: www.ppssf.org/index.php

And SFkids.org: sfkids.org/

You might also considering joining the SF Schools Yahoo group or depending on your neighborhood there might be an online parents group.
groups.yahoo.com/group/sfschools/

If you want to private message me your neighborhood, I can let you know if a parents group exists.

I hope this helps!

Hi. I'm not from SF, but I wanted to suggest that you might try to post your question in Greatschools Autism and Asperger's Parent's Group at community.greatschools.net/groups/18940
