Try Newark Public Schools website to get a list of public schools. The best public ones are Ann St., Lafayette St. (both in the Ironbound) and a couple in North Newark. Charter schools are a big option, but you now is too late for Robert Treat Academy and North Star Academy, the best in the area. Next are the private schools. This depends, St. Phillips is good, and there are a few Catholic schools around. Newark needs more non-religous private school options. I have not seen any of these in the area. The closest that I know of is Montclair Co-op in Montclair.
HI. I see that you live in Newark, NJ. Unfortunately, Greatschools is a nationwide forum, and the chance of finding another person from the same city, with a child approximately the same age, is slim. Have you tried using the "Research and Compare" feature on the green menu bar near the top of this page?
Often, where you live determines which school your child will be sent to, so you'll want to phone the district and give them your address, then they can tell you the enrollment procedures.
