If the school district does not allow your child to enroll, you could try preschool.

It is possoble. I started school when I was 4 and my birthday is September 30 and know I am the younges in the 7th grade at Brawley Middle School, in Mooresville, Norht Carolina. The age for entering a kid in to school has changed. Some alow the kid to come at 5 if they are smart and learn easy. While others make you start at 6 with a birthday near mind. It all depends on what school you are trying to get your kid into.

Every state has different guidelines. In MA the cutoff date is Aug 28th, you must turn 5 before that or you have to wait until the next year

I think your mistaken about the cut off of Oct. ! in Michigan it is Dec 1 cause my daughter turns 5 in Nov and she will be starting kindergten this September. Is your child in any type of pre-school situation now? I know it has made a huge difference in my daughter and her maturity level which is why I am starting her "early" hope this helps

This is "just my opion", but from speaking with Teachers, over the years, "most children", do better in the long run starting at 6 years old, with a "late birthday". However, it depends on your child, and how she learns and her maturity.
