from one northerner to another, nj right outside newark, 25 nieces and nephews, 1 in princeton, 1 in NYU, i in Penn State and the rest, no telling, but you can understand from the above, coming from a family of 12 irish catholic, it was mandated you receive an education. i got an answer for you, it's called Fort Mill, SC, five minutes from Charlotte, best school in the state, with beautiful developements like Knightsbridge, Regent Park, and others depending on your financial status. I am a total snob when it comes to education myself, but here's why we decided on Fort Mill, first of all, the town itself is WHOLESOME, wholesome kids, the families are traditional, and there are tons of northerners there who sit on the Board of Education. Not only that, you can steal a house there right now, but i like Knightsbridge myself, for all it offers, hugh clubhouse, and it's like a town within itself, Walmart right around the corner with every store imaginable. All the parents know your kids, and better yet, low low low low taxes!!! I was paying 12,000 dollars a year in Morris County, NJ, now we will be paying 1,200. I'll take it!!!! I thank God i didn't buy right away and had a year to explore, and out of everything in Charlotte i've found, which is although beautiful, schools have a certain element i'm not accustomed to, neither are my children, Union County and Mecklenburg are not what i want. I want my neighbor to call me and tell me what my kids are up to if they are doing something they aren't suppose to be doing, or just knowing who everyone is, too me, is a comfort in itself. I recommend Fort Mill, SC...check it out, you won't be disappointed. good luck

Have you tried using the Research and Compare feature on the green menu bar near the top of this page? You enter the location and grade level of schools you're interested in, and can see what's in the area. By clicking on individual school names, you can read more details about each one.
