Lake Mary vs Winter Springs Fl? Looking for kid friendly, small town feeling community

paulas
We may be relocating near Oviedo, Fl. I was looking at either Lake Mary or Winter Springs. I want to be able to find a rental community where there are lots of children to play with for my son. I enjoy the small town feeling with a close knit community, parks, great elementary schools and family recreation. Any thoughts on Lake Mary vs. WinterSprings???

thanks for the info. I have just moved to Orlando and have a 3 year old daughter. There are alot of areas to consider. I am living in an apartment while I look for a home to buy. I will also be looking for a pre-school for my child as well. I have alot of driving around and research to do before buying a home here.

Hi There, we live in Casselberry, which is right outside Winter Springs & not far from Lake Mary. I would say either one! They are both very nice, and have a wonderful small community feel with lots of children around. Winter Springs is significantly smaller, but also closer to the metro Orlando area. It has one main town area with a few shops. Lake Mary is larger and has it's own mall, movie theater, lots of large shopping areas & large restaurants, etc. So you probably won't be visiting Orlando too often if you live there.

Also, if you are going to be commuting to Oviedo for work, Winter Springs is much much closer.

My high school friedns lives in Lake Mary and LOVES IT - there community of gated homes is across the street from their public elementary school - she is a former teacher and loves the school.
