If we are taking a job in atlanta area could someone please tell me cities to start researching for good school system, nice homes, family friendly neighborhoods - my kids are 11, 9 and 4???

Marietta (East Cobb) is your best bet !! Best schools. Walton High school is one of the best in the US.

I have heard Alpharetta mentioned more than once; if you go to the upper right corner of this page, to the box where it says "Search Community by Keyword" and enter "Atlanta" you can find past discussions pertaining to the area.
