Does anyone know if Coronado Elem. School in Oklahoma city has a special education program for Kindergarten

winddancerjnj
I have a 5 yr. old with disabilities and he has attended Central Elementary on OKC. However this next year he will be 6 and they stated he would have to attend a different school that offers special Education up to the 6th grade. I want to know if Coronado OKC. (Putnam City) has this type of program? Thanks Regina

Hi. Unfortunately, Greatschools is a nationwide forum, and the chance of finding another person with a child about the same age, and with similar needs, who attends a particular school, is slim.

I'm not from OK, but I have a son with LD's, and in our school district, they handle the transitions; parents can't choose which school the kids attend...I would think if your son's current school doesn't have special ed classes that meet his needs, he's not the only one who would have to be transferred, and there would be a procedure in place for him to be transported to a school that has an appropriate program. Perhaps it would be best to ask your son's current IEP case manager, or call Coronado directly.

For general info/support, I'd also like to invite you to join Greatschools Learning and Attention Difficulties Group at community.greatschools.net/groups/11554
