we just moved to the Metairie area and I'm pondering over which public school to have my two teens go to. Also is there any public school around here that doesn't wear uniforms?

Unfortunately, Greatschools is a nationwide forum, and the chance of finding someone from the same city, with kids the same age, is slim. In most towns, which public school your children attend is determined by where you live, and you don't have a choice of sending them to whatever school you want. If I were you, I'd contact the school district offices when they reopen after winter break, and ask them the questions about uniforms/attendance boundaries.
