There is a school in Fayette County... Private School for special needs children called "The Joseph Sams School". You can find out more at their website www.josephsamsschool.org/. They have kids ranging from preschool to 12th grade.
I know that children with Downs can have a wide range of functioning...I'm not from GA, but in my area, www.theArc.org has parent support groups for families with various mental and physical handicaps, and I'd recommend that you contact a chapter in the Atlanta area, to see what advice they can share about schools and other local resources.
