Which elementary schools are best for gifted AND LD children?

CCTheriot
I have two children and am planning to relocate to Lewisville,TX for the 2009-2010 school year. My daughter will be in the 3rd grade and has LDs. My son will be in the 2nd grade and is very bright. Choosing an appropriate school for both is VERY important to me. The ratings and parent reviews are not always helpful and do not necessarily correspond. Please help!

Sorry. The name of the schools is The Education Center. They are charter schools located in Lewisville, Denton, as well as, Little Elm, The Colony, and Aubrey opened a campus this year. They are public, but funded differently.

TheirTAKS scores are not high, but they are comparable to Denton's disctrict average, but the campuses are small. The attention is available at both ends of the spectrum. The accelerated child can move ahead and yet classroom with kids his/her own age. Most of the children who attend are affected by a learning difference which can be what I refer to as a learning ability or giftedness. Many have dislexia or some other type of learning need.

Two of my children will complete two grade levels this year. Another will be very close to that goal. Our Denton GT class was not really all it could have been...this seems to have worked for us this year.

I do plan on visiting the schools , just wanted a little input from those who know the area. Sometimes what you see when visiting isn't how things really are. Do you have any certain school that just stands out in your mind?

At least look at The Education Ctrs in Lewisville or Denton. The kids work at their own pace and this works well at both ends of the spectrum. See what you think, but don't go with TAKS scores. Go see the schools.
