Relocating to Shrewsbury, MA--not sure how to pick a school, or if it is districted as such.

I have a child in Kindergarten and was wondering what school to place her in. Will be living in the Sheridan apts.--have been trying to research, called the apt. complex, and they gave me Calvin Coolidge, but when I look them up on their website, they don't offer kindergarten. HELP!! Also have a four year old and was wondering if there's a public preschool system as well. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Shrewsbury does have a public preschool. Here is the link: www.shrewsbury-ma.gov/Schools/ParkerRoad/index.html

I am not sure which elementary school buildings in Shrewsbury offer the Kindergarten program. Often in towns that have multiple elementary schools, Kindergarten is held in only one or two schools. I would call the superintendent's office to find out the details: www.shrewsbury-ma.gov/Schools/

Unless Shrewsbury is on a NCLB watch list (and I don't think it is), you may not have a choice as to where you place your kindergartener. Most towns place children based on pre-determined district lines.

Good luck!
