I've heard great things about the schools in South Pasadena many people live in this city because of the schools. You may find it helpful to keep in mind that South Pasadena is a separate city from Pasadena, California.
Good luck to your daughter at Art Center, it's a great school.

I live in South Pasadena and the high school is fine if the student is already motivated and focused. If your child wants to go straight to a 4 year university and may not be that driven, then I would suggest a private high school. A third of the kids at SPHS go to PCC (jr college) right out of high school instead of a 4 year university. Also, we all the budget cuts, it may be difficult to get the classes you need for college credit. The area has many great private schools, but may be difficult to get in at 11th grade.
