Before trying boot camp, I'm wondering if you've considered family counseling? Regarding her academic struggles, has your daughter ever been evaluated for learning disabilities or attentional issues? It isn't easy raising kids these days, but if there are underlying issues, like a learning disability, then it's natural for a child to avoid what's difficult for them, and start to come up with a barrier/excuses for not doing things. I would urge you to ask your pediatrician for a referral to a family therapist before boot camp, and I do think you're smart to address these issues before she gets any older.

My child is smart when she uses her head. The school says she is fine and that she is just going through the girl stage. they say she has no disability that they can see. She is sassy some of the time.she acts as if she does not hear you when you call her name. When daddy speaks then she hears you. I want her to do good in school. she can act normal when she wants to. If I do something bad its like she is the grown up. I get an ear full when I am not doing good.

There's a book you might be interested in getting, called "Get Out of My Life; But First Can You Take Me and Cheryl to the Mall?" It's a "must read" for parents of adolescents.

I borrowed a copy from my local library, but if Walmart doesn't carry it, I'm sure you can get it at stores like Barnes&Noble or Borders or online at Amazon.com.

Another great book to try is "Have A New Kid by Friday" by Dr. Kevin Leman. It sounds like your child is testing you. I am guessing you are the"softy" in the family just as I was. Dr Leman is an internationally known psychologist from Arizona, and a radio, and television personality and speaker who has taught audiences worldwide with his wit and commonsense psychology. He has written more than 30 books about such things as marriage and family issues. Another Great book he wrote "Making Children Mind Without Losing Yours".
Good luck and keep in touch. :)
