How to find out which public schools you can go to?

bgrader
I know it is based on the certain division/distance from the area you live in but not sure.
Is there any website where one can type in home address and it tells you all the public schools you are qualified for?

I am new to the area and when I registared my kids in the San Jose district they said that our kids didn't have to go to their home school, it all depended on what their interest were and our expectation for academics was. Go to the enrollment center for San jose they can give you booklet of the various elementary, middle, and HS in the area. The other thing to keep in mind is that you may have to transport your child to the school or pay for busing which I don't know how much that is, finally the last thing they told me was if the schools have availabity would my child get into but to pick up to three school of interest. Hope this helps and good luck.

You may use this website to locate your local public school district, and then use the district's website to locate your local schools. As far as determining all of the public schools you are "qualified" for, this varies school district to school district. As far as I know, there is no single national website that will assist you in answering this question.

This is a question that can only be answered using resources provided by your local public school district based on their policies.
