We are comparing Nolan Catholic HS with Country Day, am looking for a good academic and music program.

We will be moving to FW from Europe this summer. Also, any comments on living in west FW vs. east FW would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

if hes in band, the most top bands are around the metroplex. LD Bell high school in euless has been number one in the nation for a long time for their marching band, or Bowie high school in arlington has a very strong music programs also. But if your willing to do more, Booker T Washington high school. is the best to go for music. a small number of students and great arts magnet school. Booker T Washington High School of Performing and Visual Arts. go check them out. you would have to audition for it. which is in febuary. so start searching now

Thank you for your response. My son will be in 10th grade next year. I noticed TV did not have a band, so I wasn't looking at them. Country Day is comparable in size to where he's at now, and they both say they have jazz bands. They both seem to have good reputations. It looks like NC requires double the service hours that CD does. I guess we'll have to visit both and see what works for us. Thanks again for your response.

Depending on the age of your child. My daughter goes to Fort Worth Academy that is located close to Country Day as well as Trinity Valley. But, FWA only goes to the 8th grade. She was accepted at FWCD and TVS but FWA had a better arts background. However, after the 8th grade, Country Day is more arts centric and usually has higher SAT results than Trinity Valley which is more science oriented.
