Hello. I live in the Chicago area, but it is a very big city, and we don't know enough detail to be able to answer your question. Do you plan on living in the city itself, or in a nearby suburban area? Where you live usually determines which public school your child attends, although there are some "magnet schools" that kids may have an opportunity to attend, if they test high enough. Unfortunately, if you are not in the U.S. to take the exam at the appropriate time, it probably will not be an option.
If you are willing to pay tuition for a private school, there are many good ones, and they do not require that you live in a particular area, although you might then be responsible for your child's own transportation.
If you can give us more details, we can try to give you more specific information.
