They will not let you unless you move to that side of town. It goes by where you live in linden.

You write to the Union Board of Ed to ask for a variance.

I don't think you can choose which school you want to send your kid to unless you send them to a private school. The town already has their areas zoned on a map much like how your voting polling districts are chosen as the deciding factor of which school your child will attend.

I had a similar problem and the solution that presented itself to me was a blessing.

Saints Mary & Elizabeth Academy is a pretty good school, it is faith based so my child is being instilled with good values and discipline when attending school as well as at home.

The alternative, Send your kid to public school? Most of the linden schools are sub par and the even the good ones have bad kids that don't have parents in their lives guiding them. Too many wanna be little gangsters in schools these days corrupting the minds of the good kids is spreading like a cancer.

I don't want my kid talking street slang or with a "street accent" which just sounds like a mix between Ebonics with a Spanish accent, great, bad grammar with a foreign accent. I'm not knocking Spanish or any other minorities, we all get along at the academy and just about all of us are very involved caring parents and that is something you need to save your children from the clutches of the public schools cancer.

Maybe I'm being a little melodramatic but my child is important to me and I'll do whatever I need to in order to ensure a good education and upbringing for him.

The academy is a great option for your children living in linden or close by. Their tuition is cheaper than you might think, I thought private school would cost a lot more. Members of the archdiocese of Newark churches get discounts and they have a payment plan which makes it easy to afford.

Just a thought in case they won't let your child transfer, I don't think they will. Usually they only allow this if your child gets kicked out of one school for bad behavior will they let them attend another school in town out of their district.
