Does anyone know of a wonderful performing arts charter school?

Ormsby
I am giving up on AZ public schools> My daughter brings home the worst grades I have ever seen for a 6th grader. We were in a charter school for a year. Straight A's! Now because of a move we are back in public. I will relocate anywhere in the valley. Someone please help. She excels in the arts and then shows it in the rest of her school work.

Arizona School for the Arts in Phoenix is a performing arts charter school. It is expanding and adding building space. We have applied after a miserable year with a gifted teacher who turned out to be our child's worst nightmare (and we also experienced the worst grades in our child's history). I would give up on Arizona too if I didn't have a good job and could relocate elsewhere. It's really a dismal situation here.....I feel your pain.

Yes, my daughter, who is in 8th grade attends New School of the Arts Middle School in Tempe, it's located on Apache Blvd. & East of Rural Rd. They offer a variety of arts programs. My daughter loves the school and her grades are always good. However, she is one of those students that doesn't have to study and the lessons come easy for her. One items to note is that it is an "arts" performing school and the student do express themselves.... (i.e. clothing, hair, etc.). The light rail will be available beginning Dec. 27th which goes right in front of the school. This could be a helpful transportation mode depending on where you live. Searching for a good school fit for your child can be exhausting, but hang in there... There are many options. Hope this helps and Best of Luck!

Have you tried doing a "google search" and see what it says for "Arizona charter schools?" I'm not from AZ, so I don't know what's "in the valley" but you might use that as a starting point in your search, and then contact each to find out if they have an arts emphasis.
