Would any parents like their child to explore the world of writing?

storyteller75
I am an award winning writer raised in Crossville and South Florida. I will be in Cumberland Co. Dec. 1-8 and would absolutely adore talking to kids about various schools of literature - appropriate for age group of course - and ways to write from imagination and perspective. Please give me some feed back, I could use it! Thanks. Angela.

sounds good. I believe I mailed my number to you, I will be happy to send again if needed. This could be so much fun. If we need to do a conference call or have me come to meet with you both, I am available through Friday morning.

Have a blessed day.

I teach at Findlay in Sparta. I would have to talk to my principal first, but possibly we could set something up around the 16th or 17th. I can't say for sure because it is always so crazy this time of year.

I do storytelling, I also do presentations on poetry and implement group exercises to get children exciting about reading and writing. What school do you teach composition and would you be interesting in doing this before Christmas break?

Talk soon.

I teach composition, and I was wondering what exactly do you do? Do you give a presentation? Is it sort of like a storytelling thing? My class would love that. I teach 3 classes of 5th graders.

I also live in the Southern California area. My son's middle school has a reading program every Wednesday during the lunch break, where parents come in and read to the students. Please do contact us with your schedule.

Thanks!

thank you so much for the suggestions. I just love speaking on such an important aspect in life. Had it not been for someone taking the time to influence me I would not have been able to access such passion about writing and literature. And kids just light up when it comes to creative teaching, its amazing.

Or, contact a local book store that sells your books and see if they would be willing to host a teen writing event. Our Startbucks here does Mom and me reading of children's books.

I'd also like to suggest contacting the local library to see if they could host a workshop or something along those lines.

I'm not in Cumberland Co, but I think it's wonderful you'd like to spend some time in the local schools talking about literature.

My suggestion would be to contact the schools directly and see if they can make time for a traveling parent volunteer.

I know my school would be delighted to see someone willing to help.
