Katy ISD and Spring Branch ISD are your best options for public schools for children with autism (I think that there may be one other district with pretty good programs, but I am not certain). Spring Branch ISD has programs for both high functioning and individuals with autism that my also have more severe cognitive delays. I don't know about Katy but Cy-Fair is a disappointment. After 5 years of stress in working w/difficult admin/staff/teachers @ elementary/jr high, we've opted to remove my child from CFISD & placed him in a private school this year - but it's a parochial school not one tailored for Autistic kids (my child is high functioning). I urge you to get involved with NW Autism support group. CFISD does want to do better but I've met a # of parents who are just as frustrated as I am about CFISD & its response to autistic kids
Excellent choice, these areas have the best rated schools, in respect to your question, I can say that you need to go to the schools directly and ask them, I know that they can provide help in regards to your child needs.
