Carnagie elementary is a very good TPS school.

Carnegie Elementary consistently ranks at the top of Tulsa schools. If you live in the 51st to 61st/Harvard to Yale mile then it's your home elementary school. Be advised it does drive up home prices a little in that area. You can also apply to transfer if you live anywhere else, which I would highly recommend. Suburban schools (Jenks, Union, Owasso, Bixby, BA) have some good schools as well but Carnegie ranks in top few statewide, so you should give it a hard look.

Hi There,
When are you moving to Tulsa? I live here and would be happy to tell you about some of the elementary schools that my sons attended and which one to stay away from. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have if you'd like to email me.

In addition to healthy11s comment, if you happen to be renting as a military member, don't feel obligated to go with the list that the relocation center provided for you. This is just a list of the communities that want to cater to the military and will tend to lure you with a no deposit deal. In my experience, these aren't necessarily the most choice properties. Choose the community that you would like to live in and ask the leasing agent if they provide a military discount and most of all, a military clause in their contract. Putting up a deposit that you are going to get back anyway is a small price to pay for having the freedom to choose where you live. If you have a sponsor, tap into him for getting the 411 of the area.

Hello. From an opinion of opinion of a Tulsa native, you will find this city to be quite family-friendly. In Tulsa, the newer part of the city has grown south and east. Though Tulsa Public Schools are adequate, older infrastructure and funding convinced my parents to find private institutions to fill the bill back when we were young. For public schools, look at the communities in the Jenks, Union, and Bixby school districts. As far as communities go, look at the aforementioned communities in addition to Owasso and Broken Arrow. If you are looking at private elementary schools, there are many good options here. Heading the list, you may want to look at Monte Cassino, Holland Hall, Marquette, St Pius, and St Mary's.

I'm also wondering if you were to contact the AFB, shouldn't they have a "relocation coordinator" or perhaps a "spouse's support group" where you could talk to some other parents, and get ideas about what schools are nearby? Real estate agents may also be a helpful source of information (especially if you call now, and ask questions while you're still in OH...you're under no obligation to deal with them later.)

Thank you for the tab suggestion. Still being located in Ohio, it is hard to get a feel for the community. There seems to be 100 schools very close to each other, but I will try the tab. Thanks.

Hi. I'm not from Tulsa, but I wanted to ask if you've tried using the "Research and Compare" feature on the green menu bar near the top of this page? You can enter your location and grade level, and then find out how local schools compare.
