Adacemic excellence and racial diversity

We're thinking of moving to Asheville, NC. My 1st grader is gifted so wer'e looking for a school that has a good gifted & talented program and is academically excellent overall as well. A school with a reasonable amount of black students is preferred. Any suggestions?

sorry, it has taken me so long...but i do not know what school, you choose, but i can "only" recommend" the Christian schools, i know, of no good schools, in ASHEVILLE,N.C. I live in HENDERSONVILE,N.C. Laura

I'm not from NC, but have you tried using Greatschools Research and Compare feature on the green menu bar near the top of this page, to see overall school ratings? You can then click on individual school names, and learn more details about them.
