I hope that some of the fellow CA members see your post! I'm only familiar with the schools in New England.

Have you checked your state's Dept of Ed website to see if they list all approved private schools? This may not be an exhaustive list, but it will give you a start.

We live in the San Francisco Bay area.
We're in a public school now and our child has an IEP.

Hi,
It would be helpful to know where you live and whether or not you are looking for a day school or boarding school. I know of a few in New England - whether they are the best or not, I can't say, but they may be worth checking into.

Hi. Greatschools is a nationwide website, and we don't know where you live. My son was bright with ADHD and dyslexia/dysgraphia, and he had a very good experience at a Catholic high school in the suburban Chicago area that offered a "resource center" for kids with identified special needs. Not all parochial schools have such programs, but the only way to know about services at any private school are to visit and ask. The emphasis was on a college-prep curriculum, and it had about 1,000 total students in the school, so and was large enough to offer some extra-curricular programs, but small enough to care about the individual students.

For what it's worth, if you'd like to connect with other parents of kids with learning issues, I'd invite you to join the Learning and Attention Difficulties Group at community.greatschools.net/groups/11554, and the "2e" group at community.greatschools.net/groups/16042
