Keep in mind also that GT in one state does not necessarily equate to GT in another state. Our county schools will require retesting for that very reason, but they are very willing to do so. Additionally, regardless of whether or not a parent wants their child tested, our county tests all children in 2nd and 5th grades.
Hi. How old is your child/what grade? Where are you planning to relocate to? If it's in state, I don't think you'll have much trouble, because I understand that Louisiana bases G/T eligibility on how well students do on their state tests. If you move out-of-state, schools may want to verify your child's abilities...they may have their own evaluation/screening tests, or they might simply allow your child to enroll in their G/T program, but keep an eye on his/her performance to see if it's on par with fellow students. Your best bet will be to contact the school district in the area you plan to move to, and see what they say.
