Please help me with pos/neg opinions about the schools in the Schertz and New Braunfels, Tx area. We are moving over the Christmas break and have a choice to either live in the Schertz area or New Braunfels area. Please share your thoughts on the schools! Thanks so much for your help!!

I have children the New Braunfels ISD. We have been happy with our schools. We lost our music teacher to Schertz because they pay better and give their teachers more money to spend. Plus this year we had to share a music and art teacher with another school in town. Our elem. school was an exemplary school (could it have been because we had a full time art and music teacher?) NBISD also offers dual language classes in Spanish starting in Kindergarten. New Braunfels is a great town and has so much to offer outside of school. Two theatre groups in town, two swim teams, a year around and a summer. Lots of German heritage stuff. Childrens German Dancing, Choir in German for children and adults, a symphony, etc......

If you have a son interested in Basketball stay far far away from Steele HS. The coach is egotistical, lies to his players, does not support their aspirations to play beyond HS. Kicks players off the team for no bonified reason even if they were all district the previous year. Bottom line no loyalty or concern for players. Disregards parents communication attempts. GO with Clemens or NB.
