special needs children in tampa.

msanders71
I have a son who is handicapped. he goes to king high school and we are finding that they are not equiped to handle his needs. We moved here from NJ in July, and went through all the channels to get him into school. We understand that there arent any school that deal with just special needs children, My question is does anyone know of any schools that are equiped for handicaped children? My son is 19 and in a wheelchair. He requires help to use the bathroom and with his work due to having a stroke at birth. He is a good student and loves school, and loves to be challenged. I need to find away to get him what he needs in school. He is intitled to the same quality education as everyone else. I am not blaming king high at all. They have done what they can with what they have. Its just not enough for him and I have to find away to correct this. So if you have any ideas or similar situations please let me know,
Thank you

The school must provide for his needs. This is Federal Law!! Contact your state board of education.
