My son scored99% on the Tera Nova, what can I do to get him into advanced Learning Classes?

He is in 3rd grade and His TeraNova score was 99%.Should he be in something special to help him feel challanged? His 1st grade teacher mentioned ALP- but no one else has said anything.He is ADHD and very easily distracted and needs 3 or 4 times the amount of work to keep him busy while the rest of the class still works on 1 assignment. Any ideas?

I have some questions for you.... Not really an answer. Hopefully my questions can help you find your answer!

*What school district are you in? Programs vary widely between districts.

*Have you talked with his teacher? What does she say? If she is giving him 3-4 times more work than other students. Then the teacher is already doing "extra work" and might be willing to give him harder work in class.

*Is the teacher and school aware of his ADD? This is a personal question, but does he take meds?

*Another thing to consider is the teacher may be giving him extra work to keep him focused. The result of the extra work may be a high test score.
