Is this a good reason to talk to my daughters kindergarten teacher?

dinabengfort
My daughter says that a boy who sits next to her in school is always telling her that her work is not good or that she is not doing it right & she says it really bothers her. I have told the teacher this & she said she would think about moving the boy. I noticed he had not been moved so I asked her what she could do to prevent this & she said she had a talk w/ the boy & that he will mind his business from now on. I guess he did for a day or 2, but now he's nagging her about her work again. Should I just let it go???

I think that you should again ask the teacher to move your child away from the boy. I have a 5 year old daughter and I advice my child not to listen to whatever bad things other kids tell her, and ignore them, and I always assure her that she is not what other kids think she is. I also advice my child to say "I DON'T CARE" when someone teases her, and it works for her.

I've found this to be helpful... schedule a conference with your daughter's teacher, the boys parents and also have the principal sit in to let her be aware of what is going on. I had to do that with my son 2 years ago. Now him and my son are best friends and so are me and his mother because alot of the times the other childs parents are not aware of what 's going on at school in a case like that because of the teacher just talking to them. It helps to have the parent talk to them also to let them know that what they are doing is not right and not good for the self-esteem of the other child. Try it that really might help, but I would definitely not let it go.
