Have you done a search for Sunset Ridge in the search schools function this site has? It's a great little feature that's very helpful.
You can find the search box on the top right side of the website. Check the radio-button called schools and then enter Phoenix, AZ. Then enter the school name. You can look up any school in the nation through this feature. For public and charter schools you will find the GS ratings which is based on the school's test scores (here it's the AIMS test and Terra Nova), as well as population statistics (whites vs blacks vs latino and other races), school spending and district spending. It's very helpful information. Depending on how many of the parents from that school have found this site, you can also find a star rating from parent and/or student reviews and can read those reviews.
If you haven't already tried using this feature I suggest doing so. And if you're not happy with the information you see on that particular school, you can look up other schools in Phoenix and decide on whether or not you'd like to be an open enrollment family in another district at a better school. (That's what we've done so if you do decide to do that and need help, feel free to shoot me a private message!)
Good luck and as the other poster mentioned, I also do suggest looking in the local section of GreatSchools and seeing if there are other Phoenix parents there who may know about this school.
You may not know it but this is a nation wide forum. Most likely, you would have better luck posting in the local Q & A section for Phoenix AZ.
I might also add that you are moving to Phoenix at the perfect time. You can slowly adjust to the heat before we are completely cooking again.
