Learning Disabilities

katsar
Hello to all,
I would like to know how to help my child who had ADD/ADHD and bipolar with homework and chores. I have taken things away like books and turned off the T.V. along with toys but that only increases the temper. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this activity and how they has went through with it and had the homework and chores done.

How old is your child and what grade is he/she in? I know that medication management with a child who has multiple mental health issues is a real balancing act... Is your child currently stable? Have you asked his/her psychiatrist for suggestions? Does your child attend any regular therapy sessions? There is a poster here named jisper who has a couple of teens with bipolar and other issues. I'm sure she can give you better advice than I can. She's coordinator of Greatschools Therapeutic Schools Group, but you also can find her at www.millermom.proboards107.com
