My 2nd grader doesn't want to do any classwork, he rather do it at home.

He literally comes to class lays his head on the desk and says "I don't want to do this tight now". He can get some things done but, rarely does he complete everything in a day. HELP

Having trouble with my 7th grader in the same way but he won't usually do it at home either. I do realize I've got to be more consistent with him. And get him to a great therapist, if anyone knows of one. We're also going through a move/custody battle and he thinks he doesn't have to try harder at school because he's most likely moving here (Rincon Valley).

I'm afraid that's not really an answer, just a comment.

Do not do anything about the classroom.
Let him know that what is not do there will be done at home. Plus any homework assigned. Be totally committed even if she/he falls asleep at the table leave her/him there. Wake her/him up early and start before school. Let her/him know this is the way things are going to be done.

Tell him it is a privilege to be able to go to school
Other privileges are TV, certain foods, certain drinks
and so on and that goes away when she/he can not do some very easy things for her/him parents.

They well call you on this but follow through it will not break their spirit because you will tell them you Love them just the way they are. You are just asking them to Trust you. It is hard to be consistent but in the end it pays great dividends. Good Luck.
