I have a 3rd grader who is getting out of control what do I do?

My son does have some anger issues he takes adderall to focus more but his anger is getting worse and he is starting to hurt our animals which I will not tolerate. He will yell and hit me and I don't know what to do are there any support groups I can attend.

I don't know who prescribed the adderall, but it might be that he needs his dosage adjusted, or to try a different medication. I think you should talk to his pediatrician and ask for a referral to a child psychiatrist. You need to find someone who is familiar with a variety of disorders and who can work with you to find the right combination of medication, therapeutic parenting, and counseling.

A good book for you to read is The Explosive Child by Ross Greene. Here is his web-site. The book is easily available at Amazon or B&N online. Many libraries also have it. I was so super helpful for me.

With your explanation, I think you need to talk to the school's counselor and his teacher. The counselor will refer you to any available professional for an evaluation/ or support group. Also, talk with your family doctor for suggestion or help.
