If you're wanting to know which school your child is zoned for, call the school board and ask. The one that's closer distance-wise may not be the one that your child is zoned for. The school board can tell you which zone you're in, and even explain what you'll have to do to put your child in a different school than zoned for.
But, doing research here will help give you lots of information on your local schools so you can choose which you'd prefer your daughter goes to.
Do you know of schools in your area you could contact as a starting point? Some school-specific and district websites have features that allow you to enter an address and find your school and others simply show boundaries on a map.
If you're unsure of any local school, go to www.greatschools.net/modperl/go/CA
type in your zipcode and that will at least get you a few schools you can contact to ask what your neighborhood school would be.
Good luck!
