I am a teacher in LV and a mother to MS student and I have to say if there is resistance about AP classes ask her why she doesn't want to take them. My MS student is taking them and I've been tutoring her in math, which even though I'm a teacher is not my strongest subject and now she is looking at being removed from AP math because she in her "stubbornness" can't accept the rules surrounding algebra. If you are going to "force" her to take AP classes be prepared to help her or pay for tutoring to stay there if she should struggle. I want my daughter to take AP classes because it looks better on a college App --- but I als want her to know how t listen to her self and know when enough is enough and hat is a good skill for general mental sanity.
